You don't choose a coach. Once your session is booked, we select an appropriate coach and confirm them with you by email.

Geneva

Riding instructor in Geneva

Geneva has the densest concentration of lakeside sports facilities in the region, and the parks along the Eaux-Vives and Pâquis shores carry most of the outdoor coaching that happens here. It is also compact: a coach can cross the city in twenty minutes, which means we can usually match a session to a time rather than to a neighbourhood.

The international population changes what people book. A large share of our Geneva sessions are people who have arrived recently and are picking a sport back up somewhere unfamiliar, often in a language other than the local one. English is the working language for most of our coaches here, and several work in German, Italian or Spanish. Say what you would prefer when you book.

Horse riding

Horse and stable are part of the booking

You do not need your own horse. The session includes a suitable horse matched to your level, which matters more than anything else about a riding lesson — a nervous rider on the wrong horse learns nothing except to be more nervous.

What a private lesson covers

Position and seat for beginners; flatwork and transitions for most; jumping or trail work for confident riders. Say honestly where you are when you book, including how long since you last rode.

Common questions

I have never ridden. Is that fine?

Yes, and it is a normal booking. The first lesson is mostly about getting comfortable and learning to stop.

What should I wear?

Long trousers and boots with a small heel. A helmet is compulsory and provided if you do not have one.

Can children book?

Yes, with instructors who work with that age group. Tell us the age and any previous experience.
