Sailing instructor in Zurich
Zurich packs an unusual amount of usable ground into a small area: the lake shore for flat work, the Limmat and Sihl for river-side running, and the Uetliberg rising directly behind the city for anything involving a gradient. You can be on a forest trail eleven minutes from Hauptbahnhof, which is why the city trains outdoors far more than its weather reputation suggests.
It is also the largest market we serve and the one with the most demanding schedules. Early morning and post-work slots go first and go fast; midday is comparatively open. Most of our coaches here work in German and English, and several in French.
The lakes are not the sea, and that is the point
Lake Geneva, Lucerne and Lugano all produce their own thermal winds that build through the afternoon and die at dusk, which makes them unusually good places to learn: reliable breeze, no tide, and land always in sight. It also makes them tricky in ways the open sea is not, and local knowledge is most of what you are paying for.
Boat and equipment
The boat is arranged as part of the session. Bring a windproof layer, sunglasses with a strap and shoes with a non-marking sole. Everything else, including buoyancy aids, comes with the boat.

Common questions
Do I need experience?
No. First-timers are a normal booking and the session is built around it.
Can we come as a family?
Yes — say how many of you and the ages, and we will match the boat and the instructor accordingly.
What if there is no wind?
Your instructor decides on the morning. If the day is unusable we move it at no cost; there is no point paying to drift.
