Zurich

Triathlon coach in Zurich

Zurich packs an unusual amount of usable ground into a small area: the lake shore for flat work, the Limmat and Sihl for river-side running, and the Uetliberg rising directly behind the city for anything involving a gradient. You can be on a forest trail eleven minutes from Hauptbahnhof, which is why the city trains outdoors far more than its weather reputation suggests.

It is also the largest market we serve and the one with the most demanding schedules. Early morning and post-work slots go first and go fast; midday is comparatively open. Most of our coaches here work in German and English, and several in French.

Transitions are where amateurs lose the most time

Not fitness — transitions and pacing. Most age-group athletes lose more minutes in T1 and T2, and by going out too hard on the bike, than any training block would ever give back. A session that covers only those two things is often the single most valuable one people book.

Built around your race

Tell us the event and the date when you book. Everything from there is planned backwards: an Olympic distance in June and a first sprint in three weeks are completely different sessions, and pretending otherwise wastes your money.

Common questions

Do I need to be doing all three already?

No. Plenty of bookings are people who swim and run and are nervous about the bike, or the reverse.

Can you write me a plan?

A session can end with a plan for the coming weeks. Say so when you book so the time is structured around it.

What should I bring?

Your bike, your wetsuit if you have one, running shoes and whatever you plan to race in. Racing in untested kit is how people discover problems at the worst moment.
